S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is a first-person shooter which takes place in an alternate world where the Chernobyl incident triggered a major distrubance in the natural evolution of people and animals.

You play as a Stalker who has the job of finding artifacts, technology and anomalous formations that will prove to be very valuable to specific organizations from around the world. The game features a non-linear story which bends according to your actions, and can end in eight different ways.

You get plenty of weapons to use, you can get radiation poisoning, you get hungry and you can even lose plenty of health by bleeding. There are plenty of uniquely fused mechanics to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl that truly make it challenging and memorable.
